Zack was diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyopathy. He had been a healthy kiddo and played sports prior to diagnosis. As his symptoms progressed he was unable to participate in sports and actually even walk from class to class at school without needing to take a break. He and his brother couldn't ride bikes, swim, or run and play together.
Once Zack was placed on the transplant list he waited a few years for his call to receive a new heart. He has done remarkably well and is able to enjoy all the things kids his age should enjoy.

Zack has always loved animals. When asked what his wish would be he immediately said animals, the ocean, and flying. He had never flown before or seen the ocean.
Zack was gifted a trip to Hawaii and it was exactly what our family needed and what Zack wished for!
"We had an amazing time!!! We can not begin to say thank you enough!"
Zack's mom

The Make-a-Wish trip was a wonderful time for our family to relax, Zack to feel "normal", and to enjoy adventures as a family.
We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity.
When you’re in the thick of a life changing diagnosis as a parent you can’t help but think of the bad things that can happen and not having your child here. This experience provides us with lasting memories for us and our boys.
